Good day and better days ahead for our members,
The Volunteers, Staff and Executive have been very busy since we have been advised from BC/Yukon Command that we can open our doors to our members again. The grounds have been tidied up, the Lounge, Kitchen and Bar have been sanitized and we will be ready for you on June 1 at 3pm. (consider staggering your arrival times)
We are moving in small steps so you will find a few changes in regular Legion protocol to protect our staff and members from Covid-19. Please be patient, we want nothing better than to serve you as quick as possible.
Here is some of what to expect:
You will be required to wait 6’ apart to get through the front doors. At the door you give your name, and phone number every time you come in as well as your member number showing you are a current member. Everyone coming in gets checked for temperature, staff, volunteers and members, touch-less on the forehead. All this is for if the worst happens we know who was in on any given day. This is all regulated by the powers and is not under discussion, don’t want to do it then sadly you are not welcome.
There will be arrows directing flow of traffic for you to follow, first of course directly to the bar tender. Starting a tab may be the easiest way to pay. The tables are set up for 2- 4 and 6 people, they are spread out well but can not be moved, period. You sit with those you trust because at the table you are not 6’ apart. It’s members only because seating is limited, sorry not wives if they are not members.
For the first couple of days we will be keeping the pool and snooker tables covered just to see how things progress, again small steps.
Please join us at the club when you can, we can’t wait to see your smiling faces and hearing what you’ve been up to since we’ve seen you last.
